Japan develops healthcare and beauty products for global market

A scientific study workshop of "Frontier in Biotechnology from Metabolites to Regenerative Cells" was held in Bangkok on Friday.

The workshop provided in-depth knowledge about Metabolomics by the most imminent progressive experts from Osaka University Japan, Thai University and Japanese manufacturer, Shimadzu Corporation.

This cutting edge biotechnology provides a platform to many applications in agriculture, food and healthcare.

Dr. Morakot Tanticharoen of the National Science and Technology Development Agency, Thailand, said, "The workshop marks a long and established 40 years of collaboration in the development of Microbiological and latest Biotechnological research and application."

Senior Manager at Shimadzu Corporation, Dr Junko Iida, said that his company is working closely with Osaka University to develop innovative technologies and useful applications.

"Osaka University team and Shimadzu are working to develop in the innovative technologies and useful applications together through this joint company," he said.

"Shimadzu is actively working on to hold such event, aiming to create our next development by sharing the latest topic of research with the young generations from the emerging ASEAN regions, where is expected to grow more and more in the future," he added.

"With the 21 century oriented mind, I hope our study will develop Asia more together with the people of ASEAN and Japan," said Dr. Eiichiro Fukusaki, a professor at Osaka University.

Shimadzu Corporation has been developing and manufacturing the analysis equipments for the latest biotechnology research.

The company has established a joint venture with Fukusaki laboratory in Osaka University four years ago, inviting many exchange students from Thailand and other countries in ASEAN regions.

Along with biotechnology, Japan is also leading in Beauty care.

"Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajyuku", is one of the trendiest department stores in Tokyo. And here KOSÉ Corporation opened a new concept shop called "Jill Stuart Beauty & Party" on September 2015.

Japanese cosmetic maker, KOSÉ produces makeup and cosmetic products under the multiple brand names Sekkisei, Infinity, Stephen Knoll, Jill Stuart and others.

Just before the launch of "Jill Stuart Beauty & Party" they organized the event called "KOSÉ Beauty Fiesta 2015" where they promoted 18 cosmetic brands. And it was a great success with more than 15,000 visitors.

President & CEO of KOSÉ Corporation, Kazutoshi Kobayashi, said that innovative products are key to his company's success.

"Our strength is product development technology. Since the company was established, we have been trying hard to study customers' needs and keep creating innovative products. That's why we are successful with releasing many big hit products. Research and product development is our strength," said Kobayashi.

KOSÉ has been developing world-class brands. One of those brands is Jill Stuart which is especially popular among youngsters.

Here in "Jill Stuart Beauty & Party" they sell not only cosmetics but also lifestyle items such as towel, handkerchief, etc. And the popular item is the gift box that customers can choose the products to put in.

"Something like perfumes and lipsticks! I often use those lipsticks because there are a variety of colors. And the color looks good on lips. Anyway this shop prepares many cute items and the towels are newly released. I was excited. And how they display products is cute. We want to come back here again," said one of the customers at Jill Stuart Beauty & Party.

KOSÉ is aiming even more global expansion by these worldwide brands.
