A Japanese whisky has been voted as the world's finest in the latest annual list compiled by Jim Murray's Whisky Bible beating the likes of scotch.
Scottish distiller was unable to make it to the top five on the list, the Daily Express reported.
The publication entitled Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 as "near indescribable genius" and awarded it 97.5 marks out of 10.
Whilst talking about scotch, Murray asserted that it was a wake-up call for Scotch and it was time for a little dose of humility and time to get back to basics.
The 2015 Whisky Bible contains taste notes for 4,700 whiskies.
