Australian golfer Jason Day continued his formidable late-season form as he won the BMW Championship to clinch fifth major title of the season at Illinois.
With the win, Day has dethroned Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth to become the top-ranked golfer in the world.
The 27-year-old finished at 22-under par to claim victory by six strokes from second-placed Daniel Berger, news.com.au reported.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy and American trio of JB Holmes, Rickie Fowler and Scott Piercy finished tied for the third place.
Day will now head into the Tour-championship with top-spot at East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta.
