Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader Danish Ali on Tuesday said there was nothing wrong with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) being a part of a proposed Third Front that would include Left Front parties to prevent the BJP-led NDA from forming a government under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

Giving his approval to CPI leader A.B.Bardan's suggestion, Ali said:"What's wrong in trying to save the secular fabric of this country. All regional parties, including the TMC, can be a part of an alternative government against the BJP and the Congress. The regional secular parties will not go with Modi. There will be a third alternative which will form government."

Bardhan had on Monday told a private television channel that the possibility of bringing the TMC into the proposed Third Front could not be ruled out.

"The whole idea will be to keep Modi out if it is possible. I don't give the BJP more than 165-170 seats, and with all, they can't go beyond 210. Therefore, the BJP has to be kept out. And for that, all options, including Mamata, will be discussed," Bardhan said.
