JD (U) expects Bihar polls to be a game changer

Janata Dal (United) [JD (U)] spokesperson Ajay Alok on Wednesday said his party is expecting the Bihar polls to be a game changing event, not only for Bihar, but also for the country.

"We hope from the Election Commission that the election will be conducted in a most fair manner keeping the communal harmony intact. The use of muscle power and money power should be well-balanced and checked. We expect this Bihar election to be a game changing event not only for Bihar, but also for the country," Alok told ANI.

"We welcome the decision taken by the Election Commission to conduct the election in five phases, keeping in view all the festivals coming in between like Dusshera, Diwali, Chhath, Moharrama and Eid," he added.

Alok appealed to the people of Bihar to vote in large numbers to ensure a good government in making.

The Bihar Assembly will go to polls in five phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on October 12, for second on October 16, for third on October 28, fourth on November 1 and fifth on November 5.

The counting of votes will take place on November 8.
