The Janata Dal (United) On Monday downplayed the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's criticism over the road rage case in which 19-year-old Aditya Sachdeva was allegedly shot dead by party MLC Manorama Devi's son Rocky, saying all options are being explored to ensure that the guilty is arrested and punished as per the law.

Responding to a poser about Nitish's silence on the episode, JD (U) leader Ajay Alok said the Opposition and media are hand-in glove and unnecessarily making it a political issue.

"It is an absurd question. Only Nitish Kumar knows on what matters does he tweets," he said when asked as to why there was no reaction from the Chief Minister as yet.

"This (road rage case) is a law and order problem, we are reiterating there is rule of law in the state. Nitish Kumar has been doing his duty in the best possible way. So, this is an absurd question," he added.

Alok told ANI that the ADG and DG themselves announced that they have formed a  Special Task Force (STF) team to nab Rocky.

"How far can he go? All options are being explored to put him behind bars," he added.

Alok further said that the accused's father has been detained and is being questioned.

"The police are conducting joint raids... You can accuse us only if there is inaction from our side," he added.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a shutdown in Gaya town over the alleged killing of the 19-year-old student.
