The police on Saturday arrested a hardcore Maoist from Jharkhand's Giridih district and recovered explosives along with arms and ammunition.
The Superintendent of Police (SP), Giridih, Kranti Kumar, said that the nabbed Maoist had been identified as Dinesh Manjhi and was a hardcore leader and platoon commander of a Maoist organization in Jharkhand.
"We got the information at night that somebody was pasting a poster. The police official on duty went to the place and caught him with the banners and posters. After inquiring him we came to know that he had pasted poster in three other places. We have taken out the posters from those places as well," said Kumar.
The Maoist was pasting posters for boycotting the state elections.
Explosives, materials for making bomb and arms have been obtained from the Maoist.
