Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit the Kargil War Memorial at Dras in Jammu and Kashmir today, where he will lay a wreath in honour of the brave Indian soldiers at the memorial.

Following this he will interact with a cross-section of people in Kargil and will hold meetings with delegations of political parties, civil society groups and individuals and take their views on development related issues.

In the wake of the terror attack in Baramulla, Rajnath yesterday said the security forces are giving a befitting reply to the terrorists from the other side of the border.

The Home Minister earlier today spoke to the National Security Advisor and the Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) in the wake of terror attack in Baramulla and reviewed the situation.

Meanwhile, in yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling and firing along LoC in Naushera sector in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir this morning.

Pakistani forces started unprovoked firing and shelling in civilian areas and on forward Indian posts around 5 a.m. Troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively.

The heavy exchange of fire is still going on. There is no report of any casualty or injury to the Indian side.

Indian Army has given befitting reply to the unprovoked shelling by Pakistan in civilian areas of Poonch district along the LoC yesterday in which five civilians including three women were injured and some shops were gutted in fire.

Indian troops targeted Pakistani posts, from where the shelling was initiating, effectively to silent the guns. Intermittent heavy exchanges were heard throughout the night.

The escalated tension along the LoC and International Border has been forcing the border people to shift to safer places.
