JK Rowling has revealed that she regrets getting a little known wizard killed off by Voldemort in her best-selling Harry Potter series.

The best-selling author said that that the death of Florean Fortesque, owner of Diagon Alley's ice-cream parlour, who crops up briefly in The Prisoner of Azkaban, was the most untimely, the Independent reported.

She wrote on her Harry Potter publishing site Pottermore that she seems to have him kidnapped and killed for no good reason, as she had originally intended for Fortesque to help Potter in his journey to destroy Voldemort in her final book.

Rowling stated that the ice cream seller became less relevant as other characters' roles became more prominent in aiding the young wizard and that he's the first wizard whom Voldemort murdered because he knew too much (or too little), and that she feels most guilty about killing him because it was all her fault.
