JK Rowling's own copy of the first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which started the enthralling journey of the Harry Potter series, is all set to go under the hammer.
The book, which was the first installment of the seven-part saga, is about a young wizard's adventures and will be auctioned at Sotheby's in London, the Herald Sun reported.
The novel has personal notes and original illustrations by the author.
The director of printed books and manuscripts at Sotheby's, Dr Philip Errington said that the copy could undoubtedly be regarded as the definitive copy of any Harry Potter book.
Errington asserted that not only is it a fine copy of a first edition of the first book, but the novelist has significantly personalized it with numerous written comments and many impressive and evocative illustrations.
He insisted that the personality of the writer leaps from these pages and on is treated to a remarkable insight into her creative genius.

In one of the remarks, the best-selling author wrote "changed my life forever" on the book's title.
Rowling also questions if a badger representing Hufflepuff, one of the four houses at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft where Potter studies, was the right pick.
The first billion-dollar author also wrote: "Perhaps Hufflepuff would have the respect it deserves from fans if I'd stayed with my original idea - a bear to represent it?"
The drawing of an orphaned baby Harry wrapped in blankets and left on a doorstep with a note is one of the many original drawings of the edition.
The auction will be held on Tuesday.
