Kashmir Valley remained in a tense situation as terrorists lobbed a grenade at residence of Shopian MLA Muhammad Yusuf Bhat last night.
However no injuries to Bhat and his families were reported.
In fresh ceasefire violations, Pakistan forces resorted to heavy shelling and firing along LoC in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir last evening.
Ceasefire violations were also reported from Pakistani forces in Gigriyal, Channi and Planwala areas of Akhnoor.
Pakistani forces simultaneously started unprovoked firing and shelling in civilian areas and forward Indian posts in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch and Nowshehra sector of Rajouri around 5 PM.
Troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively. The heavy intermittent exchange of fire lasted for nearly three hours in Krisnaghati sector, while it was going on in Nowshehra.
Meanwhile, the valley remained shut for the 89th consecutive day as life continues to remain paralysed.
