Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has called into question the credentials of the iconic former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson by saying that he could not 'put on a coaching session to save his life'.
Barton has reportedly stuck the boot into the Scot and the state of English football in an explosive speech at a football conference and minced no words while delivering his pithy assessment on the state of the modern game.
According to Metro.co.uk, Barton lamented the fact that managers, instead of coaches, are rated in England, adding that although he does not mean any disrespect to Ferguson as he is a great manager and the pinnacle of British management, he believes that Ferguson could not put on a coaching session to save his life.
According to Barton, Ferguson is a manager, not a coach, adding that there is very big difference between a coach and a manager.
Meanwhile, Barton slammed the current England national football team as 's***', saying that they have not won any games and do not have any good players, adding that English players are playing only for material comforts and luxuries instead for the 'love of the game.'
Calling the England Football Association (FA) as archaic and 'utterly out of depth', Barton also said that it does not even run the major league in England i.e. the Premier League, adding that FA has no power apart from banning players and things like that.
