Australian paceman Mitchell Johnson is reportedly planning to continue to fight the spirited 'fire' from England's famous fan group Barmy Army with 'fire' of his own during the winter Ashes like he did in the ODI series against England in the summer.
The madcap supporter group again has the unpredictable Australian fast bowler in their sights at the Gabba after ruining Johnson's career in the 2009 Ashes in England when they abused him at a time when his personal life was deeply troubled.
According to the Telegraph.com.au, although Johnson's return to Test cricket will prompt a return of the group's old classic: 'he bowls to the left, he bowls to the right, that Mitchell Johnson, his bowling is shite', however, Johnson is planning to give the Barmy Army a barrage of his own in the winter Ashes like he did in the summer ODIs.
Stating that he 'copped a fair bit of stick' in England during the summer ODIs, Johnson, however, said that he gave it as good as he got to the Barmy Army in Birmingham when he kissed his badge (coat of arms), which riled them a lot, although he added that he is not sure what the fans have planned for him this time.
Johnson further said that if he is playing well, he does not expect that he would cop much abuse from the Barmy Army, adding that even if he did, he will not be bothered as he has experienced all of it before.
The report mentioned that Johnson is now a far more settled figure off the field following the birth of his baby daughter, and he is also calmer on the field after psyching himself up too much before he almost had a meltdown in the 2009 Ashes.
