As he kicked off the 'Make America Great Again' welcome celebration, Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight complained about the 'barrage of lies' aimed at President-elect Donald Trump during his campaign.
"We have all been witness to a very grueling year and a half for the president-elect," said the 78-year-old.
"We have been witness to a barrage of propaganda that left us all breathless with anticipation, not knowing if God could reverse all the negative lies against Mr. Trump, whose only desire is to make America great again," reports Daily Mail.
The actor celebrated Trump's election victory which he said had 'answered all our prayers' but sympathized with the businessmen whose 'only desire', he said, was 'to make America great again'.
"He certainly didn't need this job and yes, God answered all our prayers."
Jon ended his tribute by introducing soul artist Sam Moore for his performance of "America the Beautiful."
Jon Voight was the only high-profile Hollywood actor to lend his name to the event.
