Jordan's King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein has reportedly called on for China's support to help resolve the conflict in Syria.
During their meeting, Abdullah appealed Chinese president Xi Jinping to help the nation in achieving peace, stability, civility and prosperity through the peace process and also in resolving the Syria conflict.
This comes amidst negotiations among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council focusing on a draft resolution on Syria's arsenal of chemical weapons.
Abdullah said that Jordan appreciates China's role in promoting the Middle East Peace Process and in searching for a political settlement for the Syrian issue.
Jordanian spokesman said that the pro-US kingdom will not be a launch pad for attacks on Syria adding that the government would prefer a diplomatic solution to the Syrian crisis.
Experts believe that China is becoming more involved in the Middle East, both economically and diplomatically, and regional expectations are growing over China's role in helping to solve thorny issues.
