Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) member and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker Juhi Khan on Tuesday resigned from her post following a dispute with the body's chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh.
Khan accused Shukla of acting under political pressure and refused to work under the latter on those grounds.
"It is absolutely true that she was acting under political pressure and that is why I resigned, because I cannot work under her. It is a constitutional body and you have to work for everybody. Whether it is any woman from the Aam Aadmi Party or the Congress, we have to work for them," Khan told ANI.
Khan also refused to comment on the AAP leader Kumar Vishwas controversy.
"I cannot speak on behalf of Kumar Vishwas. For that, you please go and ask him," Khan said.
"I have never defamed anyone and do not believe in such kind of political behaviour. I definitely think Barkha Shukla Singh is being pressurised by the Congress, which is why she had a public conference. It is all politically motivated," she added.
Earlier today, the DCW conference was disrupted when Khan claimed that Vishwas was 'an honest and clean man'. She walked out of the conference when Barkha Shukla Singh alleged that Khan had been sent by the AAP to cause a hindrance in the conference.
