Julia Roberts and 'Manchester by the Sea' Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges are set to star in the homecoming drama 'Ben Is Back.'
The drama is scripted and will be directed by Hedges' real-life father, Peter Hedges, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The drama follows the charming yet troubled Ben Burns played by Hedges, who returns home to his unsuspecting family one fateful Christmas Eve. Ben's wary mother Holly Burns played by Roberts, welcomes her beloved son's return, but soon learns he is still very much in harm's way. During the 24 hours that may change their lives forever, Holly must do everything in her power to avoid the family's downfall.
Color Force and Black Bear Pictures are producing alongside the senior Hedges.
The production of the film is set to begin later this year in December.
On work front, Roberts will next be seen in the upcoming drama 'Wonder,' opposite Jacob Tremblay and Owen Wilson.
Meanwhile, junior Hedges will next be seen in Greta Gerwig's directorial debut 'Lady Bird' and the Martin McDonagh drama 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
