Jupiter Ascending has emerged as a winner at international box office.
Though Wachowskis' Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis starrer flick didn't' do that well at its domestic debut, the sci-fi film grossed 32.5 million dollars with 5.4 million admissions from just under 10,200 screens in 65 countries, and the film topped the box office in a number of locations in Eastern Europe and Asia where Jupiter, Deadline.com reported.
In Russia, the movie had a strong opening with 4.7 million dollars from 1.1 million admissions on 1,900 screens, while in France, it opened with an estimated 2.5 million dollars and 289,000 admissions on 392 screens.
The UK opened to 2.0 million dollars with 193,000 admissions on 623 screens and in Brazil, it finished the weekend as runner-up, grossing 1.9 million dollars with 311k admissions on 538 screens.
The movie opened strongly across Asia, where it earned 6 million dollars altogether from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand with a total 1.2 million admissions, and is yet to hit theatres in Australia, China and Japan.
