Italian giants Juventus relaunched their hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League with a rousing 3-1 win over Danish side Copenhagen on Wednesday at their home in Juventus Arena.
With Real Madrid securing first place in Group B after a 4-1 win at home to Galatasaray, Juventus replaced the Turks in second place on six points and now hold a two-point lead on both Galatasaray and Copenhagen.
According to Sport24, Juventus dominated Copenhagen from the outset, pinning the visitors back in their own half for most of the opening period, with Arturo Vidal scoring a hat-trick, including two from the penalty spot, although Olaf Mellberg tried to raise Copenhagen's hopes with a goal in the 56th minute.
Juventus, however, dominated the remainder of the game with Paul Pogba spurning a chance at the death to get his name on the scoresheet after skewing Andrea Pirlo's delivery wide from 20 metres, the report added.
