Kristen Stewart, who has taken a break from acting for the next few months, is happy about her decision of staying behind the camera to work on a short film titled ' Water'.

In an interview at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, the 26-year-old actress said she has just done five movies over a two-year period, adding she feels she has made the right decision of halting her acting career as right now she wants to fulfill her dream of direction, Channel.24 reports.

"I just did like five movies over a two-year period, and I think it's a very good decision for me right now to stop acting in movies for just a moment, and I've never really done that, I've never changed my appearance, she said.

Adding on to this, the 'Twilight' actress said, "I've always really stayed neutral since I was like 10 years old, so I was like, 'I'm gonna direct a short, and I'm gonna f*** up my hair."

The actress had previously expressed her desire to get into direction with the right kind of story, stating she loves this glamorous industry and has been a part of it since the age of nine.

"I see it as a means of looking more deeply into your own psychology when you're attempting to understand what makes your characters behave the way they do and who they really are, she added.
