Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS), part of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, one of the top 10 ranking universities in the U.S. and among the eight most prestigious Ivy League schools, is launching an innovative summer program called the KWHS Global Young Leaders Academy for high school students from India and other countries.
A part of the global Knowledge@Wharton Network of online journals, KWHS is a portal that promotes finance, entrepreneurship, leadership and business skills among high school students and educators around the world through content and competitions.
The two-week intensive summer academic program will be held in May and June 2015. High school students aged 15-18 years from across India, South Asia and other countries are eligible to apply through BrainGain Magazine, a study abroad portal that is collaborating with KWHS on this program.
The KWHS Global Young Leaders Academy draws content selected from more than 400 lesson plans. It is crafted for high school students who want to learn more about financial literacy, leadership and entrepreneurship. Conducted in Philadelphia, the program will focus on topics such as economics, finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, social studies, goal setting and U.S. college admissions.
It also includes guest lectures from educators and business executives as well as team-building sports, games and competitions. The students will also get a chance to be part of a live community service project and will receive a certificate to recognize their volunteer hours.
The course also includes guided tours to historic places of interest in Philadelphia, New York City and Washington D.C. such as the Penn campus, Liberty Bell, Independence House, Wall Street, White House, Empire State Building, Lincoln Memorial, Times Square, Fifth Avenue and various museums.
As budding entrepreneurs in a globally interconnected economy, the students will also be introduced to international cuisine.

The topics to be covered during the Global Young Leaders Academy include leadership, economics and finance, international business, entrepreneurship, interpersonal skills for the 21st century and American history and politics.
