Pakistan's former pace bowler Wasim Akram has said that he was inspired by Kapil Dev's unbeaten 175-run knock against Zimbabwe during 1983 World Cup so much so that it multiplied his desire to play in an ICC Cricket World Cup.

Reminiscing memories of 1992 World Cup, Akram said that they were completely written off right from the start of the tournament. However, Imran Khan's unwavering leadership brought them fruitful results as they played some exceptional cricket in the finals, with memories of their victory still remaining incredulous, The Dawn reported.

Commenting on the upcoming 2015 World Cup, he said that he is eagerly waiting for the tournament and it would be difficult for him to not to recall his World Cup memories. He further said that the exotic locations of Australia and New Zealand, combined with the excellent facilities and challenging condition would make this 11th edition of ICC Cricket World Cup the highlight of the sporting year.
