New Delhi, Mar. 24 (ANI): Bollywood's veteran actor Shashi Kapoor is soon going to be conferred with the 2014 Dada Saheb Phalke award for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Known for his films like Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kabhie Kabhie, Deewar and Namak Halaal, this award comes as a belated birthday gift for the 77 year old actor.
Needless to say, the entire Kapoor clan is elated.
His son Karan said, "The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award was earlier awarded to our grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor, to our uncle, Raj Kapoor and now our father. This is quite an honour."
His daughter Sanjna Kapoor, who handles the day to day affairs of Prithvi Theatre, said, "We are thrilled to be part of this legacy. We join Indian government in saluting these three remarkable men from one family who have made us so proud!"
Meanwhile, nephew Rishi Kapoor took to twitter to share his happiness.

Shashi Kapoor chalked his own individual path and style in Indian cinema, both as an actor and producer. Today, he is keeping the legacy of his father alive by promoting the development of Indian Theatre and audiences through Prithvi Theatre.
The Dada Saheb Phalke award is the highest recognition for film personalities in India. The award is reportedly given on the basis of recommendations of a committee of eminent people set up by the government.
