Flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir held a protest demonstration on Wednesday against the state government for failing to provide basic necessities after the worst flooding in a century hit the state.
The protesters complained that the government was not paying attention to them and their miseries.
"These protests are happening because the government is not paying attention to us. All the people whose homes have been destroyed, they are living in tents. We suffer from the cold, there are no blankets or anything here. Last night it was raining and our children are falling ill," said a protester Abdur Rehman.
These families were living in make shift tents at Rajbagh after their homes were destroyed by the recent floods.
Demanding proper rehabilitation, the protesters shouted slogans against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and said they want him to see the conditions they are living in.
Many houses have turned into debris and most of the villages now present a sad picture.
