Islamic scholars paid tribute to the late Iranian spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini on his 24th death anniversary at a seminar here.
The President of Anjuman-e Sharie Shian of Jammu and Kashmir, Aga Syed Hassan said the seminar was organised to preach Khomeini's teachings.
"Today this seminar has been organised to mark the anniversary of Imam Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in Kashmir University. It is not new and it is hosted every year. The main aim behind organizing the seminar is that the Islamic scholars will sit and discuss about the teachings of Khomeini and what can be achieved through his teachings," said Hassan.
The seminar was organized by Anjuman-e Sharie Shian Jammu and Kashmir at the Convocation Center of Kashmir University.
He was the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran and leader of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which saw the overthrow of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran.
Khomeini considered as country's Supreme Leader, a position in the constitution, which is the highest-ranking political and religious authority of the nation, which he held until his death in 1989.

One of the participants, Syed Tahir Mosvi said that it is a great step to make the youth aware about the importance of Khomeini's ideology.
Kashmir was once dubbed the Switzerland of the east. It was once a Mecca for climbers, skiers, honeymooners and filmmakers drawn to the state's soaring peaks, fruit orchards and timber houseboats bobbing on Dal Lake in Srinagar.
