Football player Frank Gifford, who was married to TV personality Kathie Lee Gifford, has died a natural death at the age of 84.
In a statement that revealed that the player has passed away on August 9, Gifford's family wrote that they rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live and they feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being, reported E! Online.
Gifford is survived by his 61-year-old wife and their two children Cody and Cassidy as well as three children, Jeff, Kyle and Victoria, from his previous marriage.
After announcing his death, the NBC's today host tweeted, "Deeply grateful to all 4 ur outpouring of grace. We r steadfast in our faith and finding comfort in knowing where Frank is. Phillippians 4:13," to thank fans for their support.
Meanwhile, Hoda Kotb tweeted a party picture with the footballer and captioned it, "this is how I will remember #frankgifford -- always making us laugh, But today I am heartbroken -- love u klg.
