Supporters of the Congress party took to streets in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday and disrupted road show of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, Arvind Kejriwal, asking him to go back.
Kejriwal was campaigning for AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, who is contesting against vice-president of Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, in Amethi.
Protesters carrying placards were shouting anti-Kejriwal slogans while police was trying to control the crowd.
"We have always supported Congress party as it has done a lot for us and for the people of Amethi. We will not forget Congress party. We don't know Kejriwal and we are loyal to Congress party. We are protesting against Kejriwal as he is trying to provoke people," said a protester, Seema Puri.
Arvind Kejriwal is seen as the dark horse . He lashed out at the Congress party's failure to control inflation and the Bharatiya Janata Party's secular credentials, Kejriwal has been actively advocating his party as an alternative during the campaigning for the polls.
