The forty seven days trawling ban in Kerala coast will come into effect from midnight today, during which the Coast Guard, Marine Enforcement, Navy and Coast Police will coordinate and work to ensure fool proof security for traditional fishermen who will be going to sea during the ban period.
The state government will hire fifteen boats for rescue work during the ban period.
The colour code for mechanized boats during the ban period has been made compulsory.
Meanwhile, the state government has directed the civil supplies authorities to ensure free ration for eligible fishermen during the period.
