Kevin Bacon is in talks to reteam with writer-director Greg Mclean for the upcoming film 'Jungle' and fill in the role of a guide.
The thriller project is based on the true story of Yossi Ghinsberg, who had written the bestselling 2005 memoir about his horrifying trip to the Amazon jungle with a mysterious guide, Karl, and two friends, which was also adapted into an hour long Discovery Channel docu-drama series 'I Shouldn't Be Alive,' Deadline.com reported.
Mclean would helm the film, which was adapted to script by Justin Monjo, while Dana Lustig and Arclight Films' Gary Hamilton, Mike Gabrawy and Mark Lazarus produce it.
Screen Australia and Screen Queensland have supported development of the project, which is set to begin shooting early in 2015 in Australia and Colombia.
As per Mclean, the Austrian guide is a "complex, dangerous and alluring character," and hence could prove fun for Bacon who's known for his creepy and nasty security guard Sean Nokes in 1996 crime drama 'Sleepers.
