Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has reached Jamalpur where she will address a rally to drum up public support for her party's demand for the scrapping of the Judge Impeachment Bill and the holding fresh parliamentary elections under a non-party administration.

Khaleda reached the Jamalpur Circuit House around 2.30 p.m. local time, the Daily Star reports.

She is expected to address the rally at the Zila School ground in Jamalpur town at around 3.30 p.m.

Jamalpur town has been decorated with BNP and Khaleda Zia posters, banners and festoons.

This will be Khaleda's fifth rally since the January 5 one-sided election, which was boycotted by the BNP-led alliance.

The BNP chief had earlier held rallies in Rajbari, Munshiganj, Dinajpur and Brahmanbaria.
