KhelPlay hosted a one of a kind poker tournament at IIT Bombay that saw huge participation. The poker night event which was conducted at IIT Bombay's Avenues 2017 annual fest of SJSSOM held at 27th - 29th Oct., 2017 witnessed lots of bright IITians engaged in wonderful skill game of poker.
Onlookers that primarily belonged to the management division of IIT Bombay were treated to a veritable poker feast as players battled each other in Hold'em style in Pot Limit Games involving varying stakes.
Such was the grandeur and allure of the poker night event that players from wide-ranging domains joined in big numbers and took to it in a big way.
Online poker in India has witnessed a surge of interest of late among audiences located in different parts of the country. The major interest has stemmed from entrepreneurs, IT professionals, analyst, sports person, etc.
There has also been a steady stream of players joining professional poker leagues that are being conducted in different parts of the country. Having found pride of place even in the curricula of renowned Universities such as Harvard, California, Brown and Stanford it remains to be seen whether premier Indian Institutions would likewise embrace it and make it part of their rich curricula.
"Poker in India has been witnessing widening interest and it is the next big wave to hit Indian gaming market. Poker industry may witness record-breaking growth in upcoming year and expected size of poker gaming market is more than USD 220 million by 2018," said Head of Marketing KhelPlay, Siddharth Gupta.
