In a recent development in the alleged gang rape of NGO workers in Jharkhand's Khunti district, the police have arrested another man, who had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.
The accused, named Baji Samad, was arrested from a village in West Singhbhum district on Saturday, Superintendent of Police, Kranti Kumar said.
After getting information that Baji Samad was seen near Banasai village, a joint team of CRPF personnel and policemen was formed. They later conducted a raid and arrested the accused, who later confessed to his involvement in the incident during interrogation.
"We have arrested one more accused in the case. He had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head. Three accused were arrested in connection with the case earlier," Kumar said.
On June 19, five women, associated with an NGO, were allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint in Jharkhand's Khunti district after they were abducted while performing a street-play in a nearby village.
