Kanpur police recovered the dead body of a woman who was kidnapped by a gang of bikers late on Sunday night after she had gone out for dinner.
The woman had reportedly gone for dinner after which some bikers attacked her car, taking the woman along with them. Her companion was thrown out of the car.
After kidnapping her in the car, the bikers allegedly killed her but no signs of loot were found. Inspector General (IG) of Kanpur Zone, Ashutosh Pandey said, "The car stopped to have dinner at around 10.15 p.m. near Gol Chowk. The bikers stopped the car mid way after which they dragged and threw the man outside the car and took away the lady with them. Then the FIR was lodged." "Police started the investigation with immediate effect and found the car near the railway crossing," he added. Further investigations are on in the case.
