Children in Jammu and Kashmir drew and painted their imaginations during a painting competition-cum-exhibition during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event was organised on Sunday for youth, especially children, to know what they think about Islam and Ramadan and also to explore their creative side.

The two-day event was held in the city to know perspective of young generation. Participants made mosques, burqa-clad Muslim woman, colourful sceneries, etc and came out with brilliant pieces of paintings.

The event was organised by Funtoosh Group in collaboration with Aryan group of colleges and will conclude on July 21.

"Life becomes dull in the valley in the holy month of Ramadan as usually, seminars and debates take place during this month but we have taken up a new initiative from last year. We thought out of the box and came up with the idea of involving youth so that we can look at their perspective. We wanted to figure out what young generation thinks of Islam and especially Ramadan," said organiser, Rayees Mohi-ud-din.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Sehar, thanked the group for conducting the event.
