The Ukrainian government and pro-Russia rebels have reportedly agreed to a peace plan for Eastern Ukraine during ongoing talks at the Belarusian capital of Minsk.

The two sides have drawn up a nine-point deal that includes, setting up a 30km (19-mile) buffer zone, a ban on flights over parts of eastern Ukraine by military aircraft and the withdrawal of "foreign mercenaries" on both sides, reported the BBC.

The Ukraine conflict has claimed more than 3,000 lives in the two eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk since April.

The ceasefire agreement that was agreed upon on September 5 has although been frequently violated but is still holding.
