Hawaii's Kilauea volcano spewed lava on Sunday (local time) that flowed on to the Big Island and is crossing into a geothermal property posing greater disaster.

As reported by the Fox News, lava crossed onto the Puna Geothermal Venture and continued advancing east on the property.

As per officials, they are constantly looking for the presence of Hydrogen Sulfide, but no traces of the same have been found till now.

The residents are concerned about the possibility of poisonous gases being emitted from the volcano.

Further, the molten lava and heat could rupture the wells at the plant.

The geothermal plant has been already shut down and 60,000 gallons of flammable liquid at the start of the volcanic activity has been removed. The wells have also been deactivated.

The volcano erupted three weeks ago, due to which 82 structures, including dozens of homes have been destroyed as 2,000 people have abandoned their houses.
