Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mohammad Sohrab's son Sambia Sohrab, who is the prime accused in the hit-and-run case, will be produced in the Bankshal Court this afternoon hours after his arrest on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy.
Sambia was arrested by the Kolkata Police for allegedly running over IAF corporal Abhimanyu Gaud amidst the Republic Day parade rehearsal.
Gaud was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The opposition parties have hit out at the Mamata Banerjee regime post Sambia's arrest and alleged that this episode exposed the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
"In West Bengal, there is nothing like law and order. There is total chaos because a new generation with black money and criminal activity has been groomed by Mamata Banerjee's party. From day one, she gave the signal that criminals are free," CPI (M) leader Hannan Mollah told ANI.
