Sridevi's name was recently mentioned in almost every award winning actress's acceptance speech, at the South Indian International Movie Awards at Sharjah, for being their ultimate matinee idol.
Amala Paul, who won the Best Actor Popular for her role in Malayalam film 'Run Baby Run', was ecstatic when she received her award from the 'English Vinglish' star, whom she grew up watching, Gulf News reported.
Other actresses including Hansika Motwane and Priyamani, who won Best Actress trophies for their respective languages, also thanked the 50-year-old actress for inspiring them.
Also, actress Shreya Saran had put together a dance performance, against the backdrop of a giant placard that read out Sridevi's name, as an ode to Sridevi.
The 'Sivaji: The Boss' star donned a red flamenco skirt for the gig and moved to the Bollywood's iconic actress' biggest hits, including 'Kaante Nahi Kathe' and the Telugu version of the song 'Dhak Dhak'.
Earlier in the evening, Saran asserted that she had worked hard for the tribute because she wants to show Sridevi how much she means to everybody.
