Sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen has said that he is available to play for Australia against his former team.

England will play a Prime Minister's XI in Canberra on Wednesday on their tour of Australia. After learning that former Australian Test cricketer Mike Hussey was out injured, Pietersen said that he fancies that and admitted that he is always available to play.

The axed-batsman subsequently tweeted at the Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot that he is available, the BBC reported.

Pietersen, discarded by England after their 5-0 Ashes defeat last winter, is currently playing for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.

Former England captain Andrew Flintoff, who is playing for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash, responded on social media, saying that if Pietersen plays for the Prime Minister's XI they would need a turnstile at the bowlers end, adding that they would be queuing up.

Pietersen responded to the tweet, saying that he would not mind facing Flintoff at the moment, adding that the former skipper is bowling backwards and claimed that he would bat with a toothpick.
