Sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen has reportedly joined the BBC Test Match Special (TMS) commentary team for the upcoming Cricket World Cup, that would be staged from February 19 to March 29 in Australia and New Zealand.
The former England skipper would be on air from the quarterfinals of the coveted tournament.
The four-time Ashes winner said that he really enjoyed having a go at some commentary during the Big Bash, adding that it would be good to return to Australia for the climax of what should be an exciting tournament, the BBC reported.
TMS would reportedly commentate on all games via Radio 5 live and 5 live sports extra.
The BBC's head of radio sport Richard Burgess added that this is an ambitious year for cricket on BBC radio with 5 live leading the way with its biggest ever offer. He said that he would also like to welcome Pietersen to the fold for the Cricket World Cup and looks forward to hearing him on TMS.
Pietersen's fellow pundits would include Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Vaughan, Graeme Swann, Vic Marks and England Women's World Cup winner Ebony Rainford-Brent.
They would reportedly be alongside Jonathan Agnew, Alison Mitchell, Simon Mann, Charles Dagnall and Kevin Howells, along with international legends of the game in Kapil Dev, Allan Border, Jeremy Coney and Sunil Gavaskar.
