Lady Gaga's non-profit initiative, 'Born This Way' foundation, had raised around 2.1 million dollars, but only 5000 dollars were given as 'grants to organizations or individuals', it has been revealed.
According to Death and Taxes, while starting the organization with her mother, the 'Bad Romance' hit maker had made vague promises when she said that the charity would create a safe community for young people with skills and opportunities to connect and build a kinder world, Mashable reported.
But after Showbiz 411's Roger Friedman revealed the financials of the foundation, it was found that they had spent the bulk of it on event production, web site, publicity and other such expenses.
However, the pop star's mum, Cynthia Germanotta, has insisted that the organization conducts its charitable activity directly, and that they fund their own work.
