Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Friday said the Islamic Republic's judicial process should be allowed to take its course after the Islamabad High Court declared Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi's detention as 'illegal' and ordered his release.
"He (Lakhvi) may have been granted bail, but let judicial process take its course," said Basit.
He made the comments after he was reportedly summoned by Indian authorities over Lakhvi's release.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju had criticized the Islamabad High Court's decision, saying that there should be no discrimination in terms of showing the character of terrorists.
Rijiju also blamed the Pakistani agencies for not presenting the 'incriminating evidences' against Lakhvi properly in the court
Lakhvi is accused of planning, financing and executing the Mumbai attacks in 2008.
