Public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam on Thursday termed the bail granted to top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander and 26/11 accused Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi as 'most unfortunate and pathetic'.
"It is the most unfortunate and pathetic story that the mastermind of 26/11 terror attack Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi has been released on bail," Nikam told ANI here.
"When myself and three other high officials of the Government of India visited Islamabad after the execution of Kasab, we pointed out the voluminous evidence against Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi and others," he added
Nikam further said they had also pointed out that the Pakistani prosecuting agency had not charged Lakhvi for criminal conspiracy.
"Why are you anticipating and expecting that India should provide you evidence? The criminal conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan. You are supposed to collect the evidence. You do not want to collect sufficient evidence and you are blaming India. What for? Even then we have given much more voluminous evidence to Pakistan's prosecuting agency" he added while questioning the Pakistani prosecuting agency.
Nikam asserted that an immediate appeal should be made in the High Court to revoke the bail granted to Lakhvi.

"Still the time has not gone. Immediately make an appeal to the High Court and cancel the bail. That's all," he said.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan's anti-terror court granted bail to Lakhvi, who has been accused of plotting the
26/11 terror attack on Mumbai in 2008.
