Thirteen people, including seven children, have been killed in a rare landslide in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, as it struck their thatch huts while they were asleep, said officials.
According to The Express Tribune, the victims belonged to three families that lived on a plot carved out of a hill.
The youngest victim is believed to be a six-month-old girl.
Senior police officer Javed Jaskani was quoted by the paper, as saying that 13 bodies were recovered from the site after five hours of rescue operation.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragedy.
