Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will leave for New Delhi today for his first overseas visit after assuming office last month.
According to Lanka Page, Wickremesinghe is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his three-day visit beginning tomorrow.
Wickremesinghe is expected to formally request for India's support in Geneva during his visit that coincides with the commencement of the United Nations Human Rights Council's 30th session on Monday.
Prime Minister Modi and his Lankan counterpart are expected to discuss the devolution of power under the 13 Amendment, aspects of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the unresolved fishermen's issue and Indian Ocean security among other issues.
