From gladiator sandals to parrot clutches, designers are showcasing add-ons that are as important as the dress itself.
There were several quintessential accessories at the recent Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Spring Summer 2014 that stood out as unique, refreshing and bizarre.
Following are the accessories that are trending this season, Estetica Magazine reported.
In order to make a statement, it's all about bold, unabashed and grandiloquent.
Chunky beaded jewellery, African-inspired necklaces and feather earrings by Pia Pauro, metallic-hued and printed cuffs, clunky bling-filled haathphools a.k.a Kanika Saluja, ornamented collars, medallions, mouth harnesses and even face jewellery were seen strutting the ramp.
The colour palette was muted, the emphasis more on design and creativity.
Ear cuffs also emerged as a popular trend with designer Payal Pratap showcasing silver ones in her collection.

Headgear like baseball hats, floral headbands, turbans, round hats, floppy straw hats, printed cloth hair bands and wide-rimmed Perspex hats rolled out in style on the ramp.
Pero by Aneeth Arora and Hemant and Nandita's 'She's a flower girl' had straw hats that caused quite a flutter among the audience.
What made most of these trends stand out was that almost all of them were wearable.
Worn with a summer skirt, a floral dress or a cute little summer outfit, a hat can look very appealing.
Handbags were also in the spotlight at the fashion week, from oversized, decorated, embroidered, printed, ethno-chic, floral, embellished, of various shapes.
Antique pearl work on vintage clutches, neon detailing, glossy mono-tones and bright-colours were at work there.
There was one for every occasion and one couldn't help but want them all.
