Coach Darren Lehmann has said that he was particularly happy with the fielding of the Australians during the first test against South Africa at the Centurion cricket ground.

One particular fielding event left him very satisfied. It involved Australia's oldest, and probably least athletic player, Chris Rogers.

According to the Sydnet Morning Herald, as Australia closed in on victory in the last hour, Rogers threw himself around in the field as if it were the last over of a tight limited-overs match.

The fist-pumping moment for Lehmann came at 9-198, with Australia all but assured of victory, when Vernon Philander pulled Ryan Harris for what seemed likely to be his third four of the over, until Rogers bounded in from square-leg and palmed the ball to a teammate just before it reached the boundary to limit the scoring to one run.

From the next delivery the South African second innings, and the match, was over.

Lehmann also expressed his appreciation of the fine catching produced by Alex Doolan, Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Marsh in the match.

He said that the fielding showed the level of determination that exists within the team.
