Everton's Leighton Baines has said that England is not even thinking about World Cup play-offs and is confident that they will qualify as group winners after the match against Poland.
According to the Mirror, Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has already missed Friday's win over Montenegro at Wembley, but Leighton Baines performed well in his place as Roy Hodgson's men stayed on course to qualify for next summer's finals as group winners.
The Football Association have now announced Cole still isn't fit, so Baines is set to deputise again on Tuesday as England go in search of the win that would guarantee their presence in Brazil, the report said.
Baines is confident he will turn in another assured display and give his manager further food for thought over who should be his first-choice left-back going forward, the report added.
He said that the manager felt that they both could do the job and he can call on either one of us.
Baines' appearance against Montenegro marked his 20th cap for his country and he feels he is developing as a player with every national team outing, the report further said.
