Olympic champion Usain Bolt has reportedly sprinted to his third straight 200-metre world title, winning the gold medal and wrapping up the race in 19.66 seconds in the World Championships in Moscow.

According to Stuff.co.nz, Bolt's Jamaican teammate Warren Weir crossed 0.13 seconds later and won the silver, while Curtis Mitchell of the United States took bronze in 20.24 seconds.

The report further said that Bolt would now go for his fourth triple gold at a major championship when he joins the Jamaican team for the 4x100 relay on Sunday.

According to Bolt, he had great energy in the race, backed by the crowd, and hoped that it should be even better on Sunday, although he added that as he has to face the fact that he is getting older for which, he has to try not to get injured during the season.

The report further said that 'Lightning' Bolt's seventh world title leaves him one behind American greats Carl Lewis and Michael Johnson, who lead the overall gold medal standings in the 30-year history of the event.

However, the report added that the Jamaican star can overtake Lewis at the top with two silvers compared to a silver and bronze for the American sprinter-long jumper, with ten medals overall.

Meanwhile, the report also said that host nation Russia leads the gold medal standings with seven, ahead of the United States with six, while Bolt's medal pushed Jamaica into third place with four golds.
