Liverpool has reached the summit of the Premier League rankings with a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday at Anfield.
Luis Suarez, who served a ten-match ban for biting, scored an impressive opener for Liverpool during his first Anfield appearance since April in the 13th minute, followed by a goal a few minutes later by his strike partner Daniel Sturridge, and a win was sealed for the Anfield giants with a 38th-minute penalty shot by Steven Gerrard.
According to the BBC, although Dwight Gayle netted a late header for Palace, Liverpool managed to win the game and became a point clear at the top of the league table with previous leaders Arsenal playing West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
The report mentioned that Suarez's performance, in particular, would have pleased former player and manager Kenny Dalglish, who signed Suarez in 2011 and joined the club's board as a non-executive director this week.
